The much anticipated MMO, Guild Wars 2, by NCSoft has finally secured a release date after 5+ years of development. NCSoft’s subscription free MMORPG has been under heavy beta testing over the past several weeks and will continue to be so until the release to ensure the best experience possible for the title.
ArenaNet president Mike O’Brien stated this about the upcoming game in a recent press release:
We’re offering gamers an experience that delivers on the promise of online gaming with a truly social experience in an immense, shared world. After five years of creation, development, and polish, announcing the launch date of Guild Wars 2 is a huge milestone for us, but the thing we’re most looking forward to is seeing gamers from all over the globe explore this world and begin creating their own stories.
Gamers can sign up for beta testing and pre-orders on the game’s official website. Look for the full release of Guild Wars 2 in North America and Europe on August 28, 2012.
