The multi-million dollar series Doom may not be coming back with a new title soon, but fans of the series are sure to be looking forward to this October, 2012, with the rehash of gaming goodness it’s sure to provide. Doom 3: BFG is coming, and for a meager price as well, with the bundle being quoted at $40 per copy across the board. But this isn’t just some HD re-release of one of gaming’s greater titles, Doom 3: BFG comes packed in with both of the original Doom titles and the Resurrection of Evil DLC for Doom 3, as well as a new expansion to Doom 3 releasing exclusively via the BFG collection titled “The Lost Mission”, including seven all new levels as well as a variety of new weapons.
The Doom 3: BFG collection also comes with a vast amount of changes to the game, including lighting and scenery changes, as well as new environments and the ability to hold a flashlight alongside your weapon instead of having to switch weapons constantly to use the flashlight. For players who aren’t fans of the new changes, id Software have included the changes as an all new game mode called “Updated”, with the original Doom 3 release settings being available as a “Classic” game mode. The game will also come with a re-networked multiplayer component designed for the current generation of consoles and PCs, bringing back retro multiplayer gameplay to modern gaming’s sphere of products.
